We’re looking for a technically strong Ventilation & Projects Engineer who combines solid fundamentals with a genuine willingness to learn and grow with Westgold.

Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient extraction of gold across underground operations, owning ventilation systems, contributing to major projects, and continuing to build your expertise in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with WA Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations, site standards, and best-practice ventilation and safety requirements
  • Deliver and review ventilation plans for development, production, and project activities
  • Support the management of ventilation systems across underground operations, including modelling and simulation (Ventsim)
  • Conduct primary and secondary ventilation monitoring, identifying improvement opportunities and required system upgrades
  • Assist in managing and delivering underground projects, including:
    • Booster fan chamber installations
    • Dewatering upgrades
    • Compressed air system improvements
  • Support the management and auditing of underground escapeway systems
  • Identify risks and contribute to strategies to minimise operational and safety impact


Skills & Experience

  • Experience in underground mining environments
  • Working knowledge of ventilation planning and monitoring (Ventsim experience highly regarded)
  • Understanding of WA mining legislation and safety standards
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence
  • (Desirable) First Aid Certificate
